According to Sanatan Hindu scriptures, Swayambhu Manu and his wife (Satarupa) were the parents of human race. They were generated from Lord Brahma, the first living creature of the universe. Swayambhu Manu and Satarupa had two sons (Priyavrata and Uttanapada) and three daughters (Akuti, Devahuti and Prasuti). From them all humans are descended.
